Educational Objectives for the 40-video e-course on “Learning how to use a homeopathic medicine kit”
Students will discuss the five primary principles of homeopathic medicine, including respect for wisdom of the body and mind, the pharmacological principle of similars, the homeopathic nanodoses, the importance of individualization of a person’s condition, and the minimum number of doses to elicit a healing response.
Students will be able cite and describe at least a dozen studies published in leading conventional medical journals that have evaluated the efficacy of homeopathic medicines.
Students will be able to employ how to individualize at least 35 common homeopathic medicines for a variety of non-life-threatening diseases and injuries.
Students will be able to report how and why symptoms represent adaptations of the human body to adapt to stress and/or infection.
Students will be able to differentiate between a healing response and simple suppression of symptoms or suppression of the disease process.
Students will be able to explain homeopathy’s primary principle, “the law of similars,” and its usage in conventional medicine as well as its usage in homeopathy.
Students will be able to explain the experimental basis for almost every homeopathic medicine which is an experiment called “provings,” in which human subjects are given continual doses of a medicinal agent until symptoms of reaction are elicited.
Students will be able to explain the limitations of using homeopathic medicines, especially for those people who haven’t received more comprehensive training in homeopathy.
Students will be able to describe how to store homeopathic medicines so that these medicines don’t get antidoted from exposure to heat, light, odors, or electromagnetic fields.
Students will be able to differentiate between “classical homeopathy” and “commercial homeopathy” and will be able to report on the benefits and limitations for each of these approaches.
Students will learn how to apply 5 homeopathic medicines for their use in first aid accidents and injuries.
Students will learn how to explain the homeopathic and ecological perspective to infectious disease which understands pathogens in the context of an overall organism’s immune and defense system and therefore which understands pathogens as co-factors, not “causes,” of infectious disease.
Students will be able to report on the three randomized double-blind and placebo controlled trials published in the Lancet and the British Medical Journal that found efficacy of homeopathic medicines in the treatment of different types of allergies.
Students will be able to summarize the special review of research on homeopathic medicine that was commissioned by the government of Switzerland.
Students will be able to describe the biases created in the report on homeopathy that was commissioned by the government of Australia.
Students will able to identify several books and textbooks that can complement the information presented in this e-course.
